About Gail Jones

Gail is a young-at-heart writer who loves games, puzzles, reading, writing and drawing, along with lots of other fun things.  She especially enjoys playing with her seven-year-old son who is full of energy.

Gail Jones has worked, in voluntary groups, with children and young people aged three to eighteen years, for over thirty years.

After telling her Toby Squirrel stories to the young children, who loved them and asked for them every week, a colleague urged her to have them published.

Gail undertook two ‘writing for children’ courses and, finding a love for teen fiction through one of her assignments, she published ‘Family Secrets’ in 2008, about a teenager who finds out she is adopted.  ‘Family Fear’ and ‘Family Missing’ later completed the family mystery trilogy.  ‘Witness’, a teen murder/kidnap mystery followed.

Gail has since returned to her squirrel stories and published ‘Toby is Lost’, ‘Thief’, ‘Beaut’ and ‘Fire’, the last two of which she illustrated herself.  She has also written and illustrated ‘Meet Sammy’ a collection of three stories about a little robot who just can’t seem to stay out of trouble.

Most recently Gail has published ‘Time Fixers’; Jess is an agony aunt to her friends but, when enrolled by mysterious Eli into a time agency, she soon finds herself out of her depth helping teenagers dealing with much deeper issues.  Will Jess’s efforts cost her life?  Will she fail to save others?  Only time will tell.

Gail loves to visit schools and inspire children and young people to follow their dreams.  She also loves to receive any feedback about her books as it helps her to hone her writing skills and make sure each book captures her readers’ imaginations more and more.
